Senior Beginner is tailored for the mature adult starting their aquatic
journey. The pace is relaxed and supportive, emphasizing safety and
comfort above all. Our instructors specialize in working with seniors.
providing clear, patient guidance to help you master the basics of
buoyancy, breathing, and movement in the water. This class is your first
step toward a fun, sustainable, and health-boosting swimming habit.
Focus / Goals:
1. Building water confidence and reducing anxiety
2. Learning essential water safety skills
3. Mastering the fundamentals of floating and basic movement
Skills Mastered:
· Safe entry and exit from the pool
· Face submersion and controlled exhalation
· Floating with and without support on front and back
· Gliding and basic kicking while holding a kickboard
· Treading water for 30 seconds and swimming 5-10 meters to safety
Step-by-step Roadmap (First 4 Weeks):
· Week 1: Acclimation & Safety: Safe entry/exit, getting comfortable
moving in chest-deep water, and an introduction to breath control.
· Week 2: Discovering Buoyancy: Learning to trust the water with
supported front and back floats, and an introduction to flutter kicking.
· Week 3: First Movements: Gliding from the wall and practicing basic
arm actions to propel oneself forward.
· Week 4: Safety Integration: Combining floating, kicking, and arm
movements to achieve the 5-10 meter safety swim.
What to Bring:
Swim suit, towel, and goggles are required. A water bottle is
recommended.
Class Size & Format:
Small group (maximum 5 students). This ensures a calm environment with
ample individual support.
Recommended Frequency:
Once per week for steady, confident progress.
Progression:
Upon mastery, seniors graduate to Senior Intermediate for gentle stroke
development.
